Ormond Beach Connect

Ormond Beach, FL Community

The Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens holds a significant position in our community, established with a sincere objective: to stand as a living memorial to the courage and sacrifice of our service members. Founded in 1946 by committed Ormond Beach residents, its very establishment was an act of remembrance, acknowledging the World War I and World War II personnel who fought with great bravery for the liberties we value today. This sentiment of thankfulness continues to be felt through the years, marking an important date on our community’s calendar.

Honoring Service at the 11th Hour

Every year, as the calendar advances to November, the museum maintains a valued custom. At the exact moment of the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we assemble. This precise timing is a meaningful reference to the conclusion of World War I, and it serves as our yearly opportunity to pause, consider, and convey our deepest appreciation for all who have served in uniform. It is a time for our community to come together in recognizing their dedication and bravery.

Save the Date: Veterans Day Celebration

Please note that Tuesday, November 11, 2025, marks the eagerly awaited annual Veterans Day Celebration at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens. The activities are scheduled from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, providing ample time for everyone to participate in this meaningful occasion. The event will be held under a large, accommodating tent set up in the museum’s parking area, creating a pleasant and celebratory environment for all who attend. It presents an excellent chance for our community to gather and express our thankfulness.

This year’s celebration is set to be a memorable one, carefully arranged as a show inspired by the USO style, bringing a touch of past entertainment to the present. With the generous backing of our sponsor, AdventHealth, the event will feature an enjoyable mix of music, engaging dance performances, entertaining comedy, and special guest appearances. The goal is to foster an uplifting and joyful atmosphere that honors our service members in an energetic and interesting manner, ensuring a lasting impression for all attendees.

Performances That Bring History to Life

Adding to the day’s nostalgic feeling, the skilled performers from the Halifax Repertory Theatre will perform. They are prepared to transport the audience back in time with their striking vintage style, perfect harmonies that recall the Andrews Sisters, and a touch of lively spirit. To enhance their performance, the Daytona Beach Choral Society will fill the air with a selection of popular and patriotic songs, moving the audience with familiar tunes that inspire pride and recollection.

Free and Open to All

We are delighted to share that this special community event is entirely FREE and open to all. The Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens strongly believes in the significance of this tribute and wishes to ensure that every member of our community can participate in honoring our veterans. For those planning to attend, convenient parking is readily available in the grassy area between The Casements and St. James Episcopal Church. This arrangement ensures easy entry for all our guests.

A sincere thank you is extended to AdventHealth for their substantial sponsorship, which makes this USO-style Veterans Day Celebration possible. Their dedication to our community and to recognizing our service members is highly admirable. Their support enables us to offer a high-quality event filled with entertainment and sincere appreciation, ensuring that our veterans receive the acknowledgment they greatly deserve. We are extremely thankful for their collaboration.
